Case Manager, Mental Health Clinic - Pretoria

Our client, a Mental Health Clinic, based in Pretoria, is seeking to recruit a Case Manager. The case manager is responsible for overseeing the entire clinical and financial administration of the hospital. To ensure an effective and efficient process from admission to the final settling of the patient account.


Responsibilities:

  • All tasks relevant to the smooth running of administrative duties
  • Responsible for the billing, reconciling, and authorisations
  • To ensure an effective and efficient process of the billing to the final settling of the patient account Medical Aid & private
  • Follow up patient liabilities and outstanding amounts.
  • (Comprehensive) knowledge of Medical Schemes benefits, processes, and benefits.
  • (Comprehensive) understanding of ICD-10 and prescribed minimum benefits (PMB)
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Reconcile invoices
  • Petty cash & Credit Card control
  • Liaising with outsourced financial management
  • Experience with basic accounting procedures
  • Liaising with service providers
  • Stock control in Admin Department & Coffeeshop
  • Experience with basic administrative procedures


Qualifications and requirements:

  • Matric
  • Tertiary education - Accounting & Administration (or 4 years' experience - preferably medical)
  • Previous experience with all relevant aspects in dealing with medical aids, Case Management, Debtors & Creditors, Stock Management & Procurement in a medical facility
  • Dealing with patients and/or clients
  • Experience in a mental health facility is advantageous
  • Computer literate (MS Office Suite, Internet, basic computer use) is required
  • Experience with Medical Software programs is an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Driver's license and own transport is essential
  • Fluent in English & Afrikaans (verbal & written) is required

  • General Healthcare, especially within the psychiatric industry, knowledge.
  • Understanding of doctors in private practice.
  • Ability to work under pressure while always being client centric.
  • Assertive with good communication skills and the ability to access and use information.
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and problem solving with collaboration and inclusiveness.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry in South Africa.
  • Friendly, confident, professional attitude.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic and able to work in a team.
  • Excellent verbal/telephone skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, specifically.
  • High sense of responsibility and the ability to organise effectively.
  • Ability regarding accuracy and to focus on detail.
  • Maintain a professional image and character.


Working hours:

  • As per work schedule with variations and in accordance with your contract of employment. 182H / month
  • Willing to be on standby and work overtime / shifts in case of emergencies.
