A specialist Cardiology practice in Pretoria is seeking to recruit an experienced Cardiac Technologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced cardiac diagnostic procedures, assisting in interventional cardiology procedures, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cardiovascular diagnostic procedures including ECGs, stress tests, echocardiograms, carotid dopplers, and other non-invasive cardiac investigations
  • Assist in the Cath Lab with coronary angiograms, pacemaker procedures, TAVI, LAA Plug, CTO, and related interventions
  • Monitor patients during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including vital signs and clinical status
  • Perform blood draws, administer medications within scope of practice, and prepare patients for procedures
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain cardiovascular diagnostic equipment
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of clinical consumables and equipment
  • Accurately record patient information, test results, and clinical findings
  • Generate reports and communicate findings to cardiologists and other healthcare professionals
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, expected outcomes, and necessary precautions
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
  • Participate in clinical audits, research activities, and continuous professional development
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • B Tech Clinical Technology or equivalent qualification
  • Current HPCSA registration as a Clinical Technologist
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Cardiac Technologist
  • PSC in Cardiac Technology advantageous
  • BSE accreditation advantageous
  • Computer literacy essential
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification advantageous
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Experience within a Cath Lab environment advantageous

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08h00 – 17h00

On call when required
