A high-tech dental practice in Johannesburg is seeking to recruit an experienced Dental Laboratory Assistant to join its growing team. The successful candidate will support the laboratory and clinical teams by assisting with the fabrication of dental appliances, maintaining laboratory workflows, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy. This role is ideal for an organised, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about dental technology and eager to work in a modern, digitally driven environment.
Requirements:
- Pour, trim, and finish dental models from impressions
- Fabricate bleaching trays, retainers, and other dental appliances
- Assist with the fabrication, adjustment, repair, and modification of dental prosthetics
- Work with moulds, digital impressions, and clinical measurements
- Perform quality checks to ensure all laboratory work meets required standards
- Prepare, label, store, and organise laboratory materials and equipment
- Prepare cases and models for laboratory technicians
- Pack, organise, and dispatch completed laboratory cases
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean, organised working environment
- Monitor laboratory stock and consumables
- Assist clinicians with general and specialised dental procedures when required
- Support implant and digital dentistry workflows
- Accurately record case information and maintain laboratory documentation
- Assist with the efficient day-to-day operation of the dental laboratory
Qualification:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Minimum 1 year's experience as a Dental Laboratory Assistant or in a similar laboratory support role
- Certificate or short course in Dental Laboratory Assistance or a related field advantageous
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, laboratory materials, and prosthetic fabrication techniques
- Experience working with dental laboratory equipment and digital impression workflows advantageous
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with dental laboratory management software advantageous
- Willingness to learn new technologies, digital systems, and laboratory techniques

Working hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 17:00
