Job Responsibilities

  • Integrated Data Extraction: Extract and centralize complex datasets from internal datalakes and external tools like Google Analytics to identify historical trends and marketplace patterns.
  • Predictive Demand Forecasting: Develop and refine statistical models to project future volume and seasonal cycles, ensuring the platform is strategically positioned to meet shifting market needs.
  • Profitability & Unit Economics: Conduct deep-dive analyses into margins and cost structures to calculate the net profitability of different product categories and geographic markets.
  • Revenue & Fee Simulation: Build mathematical models to simulate how changes in pricing structures, service fees, and revenue mixes impact the platform's bottom line.
  • Statistical Hypothesis Testing: Apply rigorous mathematical modeling to validate the real-world impact of marketing initiatives, platform optimizations, and operational shifts.
  • Strategic Communication: Translate complex quantitative findings into clear, actionable narratives and visual dashboards for both technical teams and non-technical executive leadership.

Location: Battaramulla (On-Site)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years proven experience in business intelligence and data analytics, specifically within a digital marketplace or eCommerce environment.
  • Strong command of SQL for querying complex internal datalakes and extracting insights from tools like Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency in Python with the demonstrated ability to use AI coding agents (e.g., Gemini) to rapidly prototype statistical models and automate dashboard creation.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with a focus on statistical significance, unit economics, and revenue-mix simulation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data-driven outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
