About the job Chef/Cook

We are looking for a skilled Chef/Cook to prepare delicious meals according to the menu. You will cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery.

An excellent chef/cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
  • Cook food with various utensils or grillers
  • Steaming, grilling, broiling, baking, or frying meats, vegetables, and other ingredients.
  • Checking food and ingredients for freshness.
  • Working well under pressure and within the time limit.
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
  • Ensuring that the kitchen area, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check the quality of ingredients
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
  • Overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
  • Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a cook
  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
  • Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
  • Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
