An experienced Solution Architect is required to lead the technical design and development of a leading international law Firm's legal productivity and information systems and oversee the technical aspects of design and delivery of IT systems underpinning the firms business plan, providing technical direction and support to project teams as required.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- As a Solution Architect lead the technical design and development of the Firm's legal productivity and information systems.
- Oversee the technical aspects of design and delivery of IT systems underpinning the firms business plan, providing technical direction and support to project teams as required.
- Conduct analyses of technology and associated operational processes, with a view to recommending application designs and strategies that will improve service, lower costs, and prevent unforeseen operational issues.
- Provide conceptual High level design and guidance on High level estimates for project delivery for investment mandates prior to project initiation
- Understand and document systems and global technical architecture, including integrations between systems.
- Own the definition, design and delivery phases of solutions to address business requirements, ensuring optimal integration of future enterprise environment.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to define technologies acceptance and adoption criteria, ensuring alignment with IT strategy.
- Translate business needs into system solutions ensuring long term supportability of the architecture.
- Evaluate possible solutions and designs to establish best approach in terms of user outcome, architecture and cost.
- Working with the IT Security Architect and Infrastructure Architect to develop systems in line with Cyber Essentials Plus requirements and the ongoing technical strategy.
- Own the overall applications roadmap for continuous improvement, innovation, evolution, and suitable replacement when/where necessary, of the systems.
- Define and own architectural best practices design for solutions required for both extensions to existing products and new disruptive innovations alike.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the components that make up the systems, their purpose and their capacity and performance levels to provide a solid basis for high performing systems.
- Ensure adherence to architectural, security and scalability best practices.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong experience of working in IT applications engineering/architecture
- Certified in or good experience using EA frameworks and methods e.g TOGAF,
- Deep understanding of the capabilities of the Microsoft technology stack (M365) including extensive MS experience across Azure, M365, O365, D365, Power Platform
- Experience securing and governing M365 and Power Platform
- Experience designing and developing integration solutions, ideally within Azure integration services ecosystem (i.e. APIM, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Data Factory)
- Experience in designing secure, performant, available solutions and architectures within public/hybrid cloud environments (i.e. Azure, AWS, GCP) including an understanding of network topology, compute and storage best practices
- Knowledge of identity management capabilities with Azure Entra
- Familiar with industry-standard authentication and authorisation protocols (i.e. OAuth 2.0, SAML, OIDC)
- Good DevOps understanding, preferably with CI / CD pipelines and scripting (Bicep / PowerShell) experience
Please note the role will require working hybrid 2 days per week in office for the first couple of months
