About the role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong focus on Acquiring and managing the growth of new business partners to join our dynamic team. As an Business Development Manager you will be working with the Brokerage Team and play a crucial role in expanding our growing list of partners, reinforcing Igloo's position as a leader in the insurtech industry and advancing our mission of making insurance accessible and affordable across diverse markets.
Job Responsibilities
Act as the main liaison between our company and various insurance companies & clients , building strong business relationships to understand their needs and promote our products effectively.
Identify potential sales opportunities within the assigned industry sector, achieve set targets through strategic planning, proactive prospecting, and cultivating current accounts.
Provide expertise on our full range of insurance products to the assigned industry , enabling them to offer the most fitting solutions to their clients, and providing support during the sales process.
Handle and resolve client inquiries, complaints, and provide high-quality customer service, participating actively in negotiations and contract discussions where necessary.
Monitor industry trends and market conditions to understand the competitive landscape, keeping brokers & partners informed about new products, promotions, and policy updates.
Sales Management
Submit a complete and accurate sales report/account status in a timely manner reflecting the sales pipeline and makes appropriate recommendations to improve overall sales performance.
Analyze sales statistics/reports that can be used as a reference in reviewing the past sales performance and predict future sales performance.
Escalate and recommend appropriate action/intervention to concerns and issues encountered in their respective channels.
Communicate with internal stakeholders the contractual agreements and system integrations for seamless execution.
Job Requirements
Experience in generating new business opportunities and leads with good client management skills.
Be able to follow up on leads and opportunities to build a strong pipeline of potential clients.
A strong sales and growth mentality.
Previous work experience in sales-related role especially in employee benefits will be an added advantage.
Strong written and verbal communication with good analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills.
Voluntary and active participation in various projects outside of specific responsibilities to support business or organizational needs.
Willing to contribute to expand your clientele coverage by engaging in business development activities when required.
Outgoing personality and independent in nature with good interpersonal competencies.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the insurance agency function, in Life or General Insurance
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to quickly build credibility with new business partners
High energy and driven to meet revenue targets
Adaptable and able to work independently and under pressure
A self-starter who can plan strategically and execute in a fast-paced environment.
