Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Overhead Linesworker (LE2) to join our team on a subcontract basis for projects with UK Power Networks (UKPN) in the Eastern Power Networks (EPN) region. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead electrical lines, ensuring the safe and uninterrupted supply of electricity to communities and businesses.

Responsibilities:

- Conducting installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on overhead power lines in accordance with industry standards, company procedures, and safety regulations. Performing pole climbing, rigging, and associated tasks to facilitate the erection and dismantling of overhead line equipment.

- Operating specialized equipment such as hydraulic platforms, winches, and tensioning devices to safely carry out overhead line work.

- Conducting routine inspections and patrols to identify defects, faults, or potential hazards on overhead line infrastructure.

- Assisting with fault diagnosis and troubleshooting activities, including the use of testing equipment and diagnostic tools.

- Collaborating with team members and other stakeholders to coordinate work activities and ensure project deadlines are met.

- Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.

- Completing relevant paperwork, reports, and documentation accurately and promptly to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

- Participating in training and development programs to enhance technical skills, knowledge, and proficiency in overhead line operations.

- Representing the subcontractor professionally and positively when interacting with clients, contractors, and members of the public.

Qualifications:

- Hold relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Power Line Safety (APL) or equivalent. SHEA Power and Pole top rescue.

- Possess a valid full UK driving license with the ability to drive company vehicles as required.

- Demonstrated experience working as an Overhead Linesworker (LE2) or similar role within the power distribution industry.

- Proficient knowledge of overhead line construction, maintenance, and repair techniques, including pole climbing and rigging procedures.

- Familiarity with safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to overhead line work (e.g., ENA Engineering Recommendations, HSE guidelines).

- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively in high-pressure situations.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

- Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and professionalism at all times.

Location:

The position is based in the Eastern Power Networks (EPN) region, with travel to various project sites within the UKPN operational area as required.
