About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead project teams in designing and developing mechanical system construction documents for healthcare building projects. This role encompasses overseeing the entire mechanical design process, ensuring alignment with project budgets, client goals, and multidisciplinary coordination.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in healthcare design, exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical design and quality control for assigned projects, including mechanical system calculations and layouts.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in engineering and compliance with current mechanical, energy, and FGI codes.
- Oversee the production of construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and facility additions.
- Conduct construction administration tasks, including site visits and shop drawing reviews.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve cost efficiency in designs.
- Mentor mechanical designers and assist with quality assurance reviews to maintain high standards.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years in engineering, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
- Proven experience designing healthcare building systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical, energy, and FGI codes.
- Medical gas design experience is preferred but not required.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification (required).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related tasks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, and Revit.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities to meet deadlines.
- The team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Legally authorized to work permanently in the country of employment without restrictions or sponsorship.
