Founding Engineer - San Francisco, CA (In-person)

We're hiring a Founding Engineer to help shape both the product and the company from the very beginning. This is engineer number one, so you won't be joining an existing team, you'll be helping to build one. You'll work on AI agents and the infrastructure behind products for ecommerce brands, in a market that changes every few weeks and that nobody has fully figured out yet. What you'll do

• Own the full stack from frontend to backend, and work wherever the most important problem is
• Help decide what gets built, how it gets built and what comes first as the market shifts
• Work closely with customers and turn what they need into shipped features
• Build AI agents, MCP servers and new product surfaces
• Scale browser orchestration and retrieval infrastructure
• Make core workflows reliable with better queues, retries and observability
• Build attribution systems that tie the product to real revenue outcomes
• Shape the engineering culture and architecture from day one

You may be a fit if

• Your most recent role was at a fast-moving startup (Series A or B, or similar), and you know what moving fast really means
• You've built AI agents or LLM-powered systems that run in production, not just local experiments
• You're strong across the stack in TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React and Next.js, and can ship end to end on your own
• You enjoy ownership and wearing several hats, and changing priorities or small pivots don't throw you off
• You set your own priorities and bring new ideas without waiting to be told
• You can work in person in San Francisco

Nice to have

• Postgres, Redis, queues and async job systems
• Browser automation, scraping or retrieval infrastructure
• Context management, orchestration and evals for AI agents
• MCP servers, internal developer tools or workflow products
• Ecommerce, retail, search, attribution or analytics experience
