About the job Senior Software Engineer (US) - Kotlin/Java, Python, and React

Full-Time | Remote | Up to $10,000/month + bonus + equity + benefits

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build the backend systems behind brand measurement for the world's biggest advertisers.

This person will own features from customer problem to production, turning billions of ad impressions and survey responses into the analytics that decide where Fortune 500 brands put their marketing spend.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with deep ownership. You'll be the engineer who designs the service, builds the pipeline, ships the interface when a feature needs one, and operates what you put into production.

What you'll own

Full-stack delivery with a backend center of gravity:

  • Microservices and RESTful APIs powering the analytics platform behind top brand campaigns
  • Data pipelines processing massive volumes of ad and survey data with MySQL, DynamoDB, and AWS (S3, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis Firehose)
  • AI-powered customer experiences, integrating LLMs and causal inference into production workflows that generate visualizations and turn campaign performance into plain-language insights through our internal AI analyst
  • Python analytics services and React frontends when a feature spans the stack
  • Deployment and reliability on Kubernetes and AWS, automated through CI/CD and monitored with DataDog and Sentry
  • Statistical models productionized with Data Science, and features shaped with Product

You'll work on systems where multi-million dollar advertising decisions hinge on the numbers coming out the other end.

You're a fit if you:

  • Have 5+ years across APIs, data systems, and distributed infrastructure, with a track record of clean architecture and reliable systems.
  • Have built RDBMS-backed backends with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Django, Rails, or Express, and single-page frontends in React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Know your way around UI frameworks, microservice architectures, databases, and cloud platforms, and pick the right tool instead of the familiar one.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to clear routine work and spend your time on system design.
  • Value structured practices: testing, documentation, CI/CD, and code review that keep systems maintainable as they scale.
  • Believe developers should operate what they build, thinking about observability, cost, and reliability from the first design conversation.
  • Mentor others and share knowledge freely, because healthy human systems are the foundation of healthy technical ones.
  • Take responsibility, move fast on problems, and care more about the best idea winning than whose idea it was.

Strong plus: Java, Kotlin, or Groovy with Spring Boot or Grails; Presto and a real feel for relational versus NoSQL tradeoffs; cloud-native work on AWS with Kubernetes and Terraform; React/Redux; startup DNA and comfort with ambiguity; and experience in AdTech, MarTech, or measurement platforms.
