About the job Customer Data Engineer | Support (LatAm)

Full-Time | Remote | 8am – 5pm EST

We're hiring a Customer Data Engineer to keep customer data accurate, reliable, and quickly recoverable in mission-critical software for a highly regulated financial services market.

This person will own the path from data issue to resolution — investigating problems reported by users and the Support team, tracing them to root cause, applying durable fixes, and building the tooling that makes every future investigation faster. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data problems while working closely with both Engineering and Customer Support.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with deep ownership, sitting within Success Engineering and reporting to the Success Engineering Manager. You'll partner closely with an Integrations Data Engineer who builds the pipelines that bring customer data in — together you own customer data end to end: they make sure it comes in and flows correctly; you make sure issues get resolved fast when it doesn't. The role can exceptionally be customer-facing, so clear communication and strong English are essential.

What you'll own

The data issue lifecycle, end to end:

  • Investigation and triage — digging into customer data issues reported by users and the Support team, and prioritizing them by customer impact
  • Debugging and reconciliation — tracing discrepancies to root cause across source, ingestion, mapping, storage, and sync, distinguishing source errors from pipeline bugs, and reconciling data against the source of truth
  • Data corrections — applying accurate, safe corrections in the CMS when appropriate, in live environments
  • Diagnostic tooling — designing and building troubleshooting and diagnostic tools that accelerate investigation and resolution of data problems
  • Durable fixes — improving and maintaining ETL processes to address root causes, and working with other engineers to discuss, design, and implement robust, long-term fixes rather than one-off patches
  • Communication — partnering with the Support team to report investigation progress and resolution status back to customers, and documenting root causes, resolutions, and playbooks

You'll keep customer data provably correct — and feed every recurring issue back into tooling and process so it doesn't return.

You're a fit if you:

  • Have intermediate experience developing with Python and Django.
  • Bring strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with spreadsheets, data reconciliation, and data validation.
  • Write SQL confidently to investigate data issues and verify fixes.
  • Are comfortable investigating data-related issues that may or may not require writing code.
  • Debug like a detective — forming and testing hypotheses methodically, and documenting findings.
  • Have excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Have strong English proficiency and can explain complex technical problems to non-technical staff.
  • Bring a customer-focused mindset and the ability to bridge Engineering and Support.

Strong plus: SaaS or fintech experience, familiarity with financial services or wealth management data (portfolios, holdings, transactions, custodial feeds), experience with data pipelines or integrations, and a background spanning both engineering and customer-facing roles.

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Take ownership of data issues and drive them to resolution quickly.
  • Focus on fixing root causes, not just symptoms.
  • Approach investigations systematically and thoroughly.
  • Care about the customer impact of data problems.
  • Maintain discipline in documentation and processes.
  • Communicate clearly across teams and to customers.
