Job Title: UX/UI Contract Designer (In-Office/Remote Hybrid)

Belleville, MI

Contract Duration: 3 months with option to extend up to 2 times (total of 9 months)

Hourly rate: $40/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)

About the Opportunity:

We're seeking a skilled UX/UI Contract Designer to join our client's team for a hybrid in-office/remote contract position. The ideal candidate will have experience in creative problem-solving, knowledge of User Experience and User Interface principles, knowledge of Figma (or a similar tool), knowledge of User Testing methods and principles is a plus, any coding skills or 3D modeling skills are a huge plus, and any previous automotive experience is nice, but not required.

Job Responsibilities

Next-Generation CID GUI (Graphical User Interface) Drawing Production

Learn dedicated GUI design and UX tools.

Cooperate with company designers to design materials for GUI.

Create wireframes, mock-ups, and GUI prototypes using dedicated tools for the development of the next-generation infotainment systems, telematics, cluster-meter and any other input devices.

Design interaction and user experience concepts for infotainment systems, telematics, cluster-meter and any other input devices relevant to user experience of car ownership. 40%

Next-Generation CID GUI Screen Transition Diagram Production

Create interactive animated screens in order to test screen transitions and usability.

Using the latest prototyping tools, assist in sharing multiple flows of the future GUI with collaborators and stakeholders for feedback, ideas, testing, and design iterations. 20%

UX Design Trend Research

Conducts trend exploration of IVI, market and other investigative research from a future perspective, and reflect survey results on the next-generation car in order to improve product capabilities.

Plan, coordinate and direct the preparation of reports, surveys, research information including in-house rapid-prototyping, and analyze data to direct future efforts.

Report opinions and interpretations based upon engineering and designing knowledge and experience.

Exercises foresight. Coordinates various research programs and driving test requested by SBR and SRD. Includes gathering research/intelligence on competitive products.

Suggest modifications of methods to the project members.

Identify company strengths (and how to exploit them), Company weaknesses (and how to overcome them), competitors strengths and weaknesses (and how to take advantage of them).

Ability to learn a system and understand how a consumer will use the technology. 20%

Various GUI Tool Skill Improvement

Research new design tools and their capabilities.

Participate in training to learn new tools, and practice using them to enhance skills. 10%

Requirements:

Degree in Design or equivalent work experience (minimum 3 years)

Experience with collaborative prototyping tools like Figma

Strong design and problem-solving skills

Work Arrangement:

In-office/remote hybrid schedule

After 90 days of full-time in-office work, a 3-day in-office / 2-day remote schedule (Wednesdays and Fridays only)

Screening Process:

7-year criminal background check

5-panel drug screen administered by iCreatives

This is a contract onsite position, in the Belleville, MI area. Remote work is not an option for this opportunity. Potential Hybrid work model is available after 90 days of onsite work is completed.
