Reports To: Director of Marketing & Communications

Temp-to-hire / Onsite in San Diego, CA / 40hrs per week

Salary 80k - 100k  (40.00-50.00 per hour)

Position Summary

The Visual Content Specialist is a creative self-starter who brings stories to life through visual content.

You'll support both internal and external communications by developing, producing, designing, and editing multimedia content that strengthens the organization's employment brand and consumer brand.

This role spans video, photography, digital, and print — with the goal of creating compelling, on-brand content across all channels.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Production

Execute visual components of the content strategy through photography, design, and video

Shoot, design, produce, and edit professional visual content using industry-standard tools

Apply photography and videography skills to support marketing, corporate initiatives, training, recruitment, benefits, and other communications needs

Attend events to capture photo and video content for social media, and take professional headshots of team members

Brand & Collaboration

Follow art and content direction to ensure all visual messaging is accurate, timely, persuasive, and on-brand

Maintain consistent brand voice and visual style across all mediums

Partner closely with the Marketing & Communications Specialist and Graphic Designer to produce cohesive materials

Work with team members to capture lifestyle photos and interview videos that represent company culture and core values

Asset & Equipment Management

Build and maintain a library of visual assets for internal and external use

Maintain organized file naming, tagging, and folder structure for all assets

Ensure attention to detail in all content: proper branding, framing, and quality control

Maintain and coordinate care of photography, videography, drone, and audio equipment

Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required

Coursework or certification in design, photography, or related field a plus

Experience

5+ years of professional videography and photography experience

Drone experience

Experience with visual asset management systems is a plus

Technical Skills

Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop and Lightroom

Video editing: Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve

Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

PDF software programs

Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices

Other Skills

Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills

Excellent organization and planning abilities

Bilingual English/Spanish

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Physical Requirements & Travel

Ability to lift and carry audio-visual equipment up to 30 lbs

Willingness to travel within the US to complete job assignments: 30-50%
