We are hiring Lead Cook on behalf of a respected employer based in Montenegro and Croatia. The ideal candidates should be service-oriented, professional, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other dishes.
- Plan and price menu items, order supplies, and maintain accurate records and accounts.
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Inspect the quantity and quality of received food products for kitchen use.
- Collaborate with other kitchen personnel to develop recipes and menus, considering seasonal ingredient availability and expected customer volume.
- Determine presentation styles and create decorative food displays for special occasions or events.
- Estimate amounts and costs of ingredients and supplies for efficient operation.
- Inspect kitchen supplies, equipment, and work areas to maintain food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Supervise, instruct, and guide cooks and kitchen staff in the preparation, garnishing, and plating of food.
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Order and requisition food and supplies to maintain an organized and well-stocked kitchen.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of cooks and other kitchen workers to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Lead Cook, Head Chef, or in a similar role preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and direct kitchen teams.
- Ability to monitor and assess performance, making improvements or corrective actions as needed.
- Exceptional time management skills to handle multiple tasks and supervise kitchen staff efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management standards.

Working Conditions:
- Full-time, seasonal contract with the possibility of extension.
- Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically demanding role requiring long hours of standing, bending, and lifting heavy ingredients or equipment.
- Work in a professional kitchen environment within hotels, resorts, or fine-dining establishments.
- One day off per week.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: 900 - 1,200 EUR per month (depending on experience).
- Accommodation provided.
- Daily meals included.
- Transportation provided (at least one-way).
- Work permit assistance available.
