We are hiring a Cook Helper / Kitchen Assistant on behalf of a respected employer based in Montenegro and Croatia. The ideal candidates should be service-oriented, professional, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing appetizers, salads, desserts, baked goods, cookies, and muffins.
  • Support the lead cook and sous-chefs in daily food preparation.
  • Operate kitchen stations for special events, including carving meat, pasta, and omelet stations.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Operate kitchen appliances such as grinders, tenderizers, ranges, griddles, fryers, broilers, and toasters.
  • Monitor product use throughout serving periods to prevent overproduction or early depletion.
  • Identify and report tool and equipment maintenance needs.
  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, work surfaces, and serving areas to maintain sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic English skills are an advantage for kitchen communication.
  • Strong ability to adjust to team dynamics and assist in food preparation as required.
  • Good listening skills to follow instructions from chefs and supervisors.
  • Ability to assess performance and make improvements in kitchen tasks.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, seasonal contract with the possibility of extension.
  • Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically demanding role requiring long hours of standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Primary work locations include hotels, restaurants, and catering facilities.
  • One day off per week.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: 600 - 800 EUR per month (depending on experience).
  • Accommodation provided.
  • Daily meals included.
  • Transportation provided (at least one-way).
  • Work permit assistance available.
