About the Opportunity
We're hiring a Head Chef for a new Thai restaurant launching in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with a soft opening in July 2025.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a visionary restaurant group known for its successful Asian and Mediterranean concepts across the region.
The new restaurant will feature a 40-pax seating, open kitchen concept, and a medium-price point offering combining authentic Thai flavors with modern presentation and dining experience.
As Head Chef, you'll play a foundational leadership role, bringing the concept to life from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire kitchen setup from layout planning to equipment sourcing
- Hire, train, and manage a team of junior chefs and kitchen staff
- Develop a full Thai menu from signature dishes to daily specials
- Organise tastings and refine recipes for quality and consistency
- Ensure high standards of hygiene, safety, and kitchen efficiency
- Collaborate with the management team on food cost control and inventory
- Drive innovation and contribute ideas for future expansion to other outlets
- Maintain strong communication with front-of-house and operations teams
Requirements
- Proven 7+ years' experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in Thai or Asian cuisine
- Expertise in Thai culinary techniques and authentic flavor profiles
- Experience in setting up kitchens and building kitchen teams from scratch
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills
- Excellent communication both with team members and management
- A creative mindset and a passion for culinary innovation
- Experience working in international or multicultural kitchen environments is a plus
