Role Overview
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking AI & Big Data Specialist with a backend focus to support the design and implementation of AI-powered features and data-driven infrastructure enhancements.
This position plays a key role in building automation into accounting processes and driving the platforms transformation into an intelligent financial hub.
You'll be joining a dynamic product and AI team and working on solutions that span prompt engineering, model evaluation, and data architecture with one track focused on backend system architecture and integration with AI models.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business teams and product stakeholders to define requirements and use cases for AI and data automation.
- Design and implement AI solutions that optimize core accounting processes and enhance platform intelligence.
- Develop product specifications that translate business needs into scalable backend solutions.
- Integrate large language models (LLMs), chatbots, and AI agents into existing infrastructure.
- Contribute to AI model performance evaluation frameworks and ensure reliable, repeatable results.
- Support OCR-related tasks (invoice, document, and bank statement parsing) and integration into workflows.
- Consume and build RESTful APIs to enable seamless data flows and service interactions.
- Implement features and backend logic using MongoDB, SQL, and AWS-based infrastructure.
- Collaborate in Scrum teams, contributing to sprints with high accountability and autonomy.
- Participate in code reviews, performance troubleshooting, and system optimizations.
- Stay current with AI advancements, particularly in prompt engineering, RAG, and AI agent development.
- Support the platforms evolution as an AI-powered financial ecosystem for SMEs in the APEC region.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Engineering, Computational Linguistics, or related field
- 1 - 2 years of hands-on experience in AI development, NLP, or prompt engineering
- Background in backend development, with practical experience in building APIs and database systems
- Prior experience with LLMs, AI agents, or chatbot development is highly preferred
- Exposure to OCR technologies and their application in financial document processing
Technical Skills

Proficient in working with MongoDB and SQL databases

Experience with AWS cloud architecture

Skilled in RESTful API consumption and creation

Familiarity with Replit, Cursor, or other AI development environments

Understanding of automated testing frameworks for AI outputs
- Knowledge of big data concepts and familiarity with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) approaches is a plus
