Job Title: Technical Project Manager Dismount Soldier System

Location: Abu Dhabi

About the Role:

Our client, a leading defense technology company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and manage a Dismount Soldier System program. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the program's technical execution, coordinating with subcontractors, managing Government Furnished Equipment, and overseeing Integrated Logistics Services efforts to ensure successful program delivery. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of the Dismount Soldier System program, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and risk management strategies to ensure successful project completion.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities and manage government-furnished equipment  to align with project objectives.

Training System Development:

  • Prepare training plans and documentation, including user manuals and equipment manuals.
  • Oversee and partially manage training efforts for the Dismount Soldier System.
  • Work closely with the training team to ensure the accurate and effective delivery of training to end users.

Integrated Logistics Services Oversight:

  • Oversee and manage Integrated Logistics Services  efforts, ensuring proper sustainment and life-cycle support of the Dismount Soldier System.
  • Work with the logistics team to develop strategies for supply chain management, inventory control, and spare parts provisioning.
  • Coordinate with the ILS team to ensure compliance with sustainment and life-cycle support objectives.

Technical Oversight:

  • Collaborate with engineers and developers to ensure the system meets all required performance and quality standards.
  • Review technical documentation and deliverables, ensuring alignment with government and customer expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with military specifications and standards related to soldier systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience managing complex defense or military-related programs, with a strong focus on technical project management.
  • Extensive experience in Dismount Soldier Systems, military systems integration, or combat systems.
  • Experience with military systems integration, testing, and evaluation processes.
  • Familiarity with military specifications and standards related to soldier systems.
  • Previous experience working with government clients, particularly in the defense sector.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors and vendors, with an understanding of government procurement and contracting processes.

Key Skills & Certifications:

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
