Job Description Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer for our client. The Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on routing and switching technologies. This role involves leading initiatives to enhance network performance, security, and scalability while ensuring high availability. Candidates must have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring seamless connectivity and network optimization.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise routing and switching infrastructure.

  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco, Juniper, and other networking 

    platforms.
  • Develop and maintain High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), and As-Built documentation.

  • Optimize network traffic flow, redundancy, and failover mechanisms.

    Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.

  • Implement and maintain IP routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and IS-IS.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, VLANs, and spanning tree protocols.
  • Ensure Quality of Service (QoS) is applied to prioritize critical applications.
  • Implement network security measures, including ACLs, firewalls, and segmentation.
  • Work with service providers and data centers to ensure optimal WAN connectivity.
  • Perform network capacity planning and recommend infrastructure upgrades.
  • Automate network tasks using Python, Ansible, or other automation tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions into enterprise environments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security and performance.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior network engineers.

Requirements:

Skills and Experience (3+ years required):


  • Extensive experience with Cisco Routing & Switching (Catalyst, Nexus,

    ISR, ASR, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS).

  • Experience with Layer 2 switching, VLANs, STP, and EtherChannel.

  • Knowledge of MPLS, VPN technologies, and WAN optimization.

  • Experience working with load balancers and SDN solutions.

  • Familiarity with network security best practices, including ACLs, firewalls, and segmentation.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and NetFlow.
  • Experience in troubleshooting high-performance networks in complex environments.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.

Desirable Certifications / Skills / Experience:

  • CCNP Enterprise or Higher

  • CCIE Routing & Switching (preferred but not essential)

  • JNCIP/JNCIE (Juniper certifications are a plus)

  • Voip Experiene (Advantageous)

  • Cisco SD-WAN Specialist Certification

  • Experience with data center networking and fabric architectures

  • Presales or solution architecture experience (preferred but not essential)
