Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Company:

Located at Senai, Johor. The Client is a global leader in high-performance interconnect solutions, designing and manufacturing advanced connectors, cable assemblies, and sensors across communications, automotive, and industrial sectors.

We are looking for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop automation equipment, assembly machines, tooling, and inspection systems for connector manufacturing, ensuring robust functionality, manufacturability, safety, and compliance with production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Design & Development: Design reliable, cost-effective automation systems—including high-speed terminal stitching and insertion equipment—handling concept development, 3D modeling, engineering drawings, tolerance analysis, and mechanism calculations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Design, Process Engineering, Electrical Controls, Manufacturing, Quality, and suppliers to define equipment specs and technical DFM requirements.
• Project Leadership: Lead machine-development projects from concept, fabrication, assembly, debugging, and qualification through to production handover, ensuring cycle time, yield, capability, reliability, cost, and schedule targets are met.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of mechanical design or automation machine-development experience with strong technical leadership.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English.
• Proficient in mechanical design, machine mechanisms, material selection, tolerance analysis, engineering calculations, and 3D CAD tools (CREO Direct or SolidWorks).
• Experience in designing high-speed terminal stitching, gang insertion, or connector assembly equipment, alongside familiarity with servo motors, pneumatic systems, robotics, and precision manufacturing processes will be an added advantage.

Remunerations:

Up To RM 8,000
