About The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Legal Manager / Senior Legal Manager to manage and oversee arbitration, litigation, adjudication, mediation, and dispute resolution matters involving the organization. The role will provide strategic legal advice on disputes, claims management, and risk mitigation while safeguarding the company's legal and commercial interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Arbitration & Dispute Management
- Manage domestic and international arbitration matters from inception to resolution.
- Review, assess, and prepare legal strategies for disputes and claims.
- Coordinate arbitration proceedings with external legal counsel and experts.
- Assist in preparation of pleadings, witness statements, submissions, and supporting documents.
Construction & Commercial Claims
- Advise management on contractual disputes and claims.
- Assess project-related claims, variations, delays, and extension of time issues.
- Support negotiation and settlement discussions.
- Review project contracts to identify potential dispute risks.
Litigation Management
- Monitor ongoing litigation cases involving the company.
- Liaise with external counsel regarding legal proceedings and case strategies.
- Review legal opinions, case assessments, and litigation reports.
Risk Assessment & Prevention
- Evaluate legal risks arising from contractual and operational disputes.
- Develop dispute avoidance and resolution strategies.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of disputes and recommend preventive measures.
Stakeholder Advisory
- Provide legal advice to business units and project teams on dispute-related matters.
- Support management in negotiations, mediation, and settlement discussions.
- Prepare management reports on dispute status and potential legal exposure.
Document & Evidence Management
- Manage legal records and dispute-related documentation.
- Coordinate internal investigations and fact-finding exercises.
- Compile and preserve evidence required for arbitration and litigation proceedings.
Key Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
- Admission to the Bar is preferred.
- Professional certification in Arbitration, Construction Law, or Dispute Resolution would be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in arbitration, litigation, or dispute resolution. Experience handling construction, infrastructure, engineering, railway, or large-scale project disputes is highly desirable.
- Experience working with external counsel and arbitration institutions.
- Strong knowledge of arbitration procedures and dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Excellent legal drafting and advocacy support skills. Strong analytical and negotiation capabilities.
- Ability to manage complex disputes and multiple stakeholders. Strong commercial awareness and risk management mindset.
