About the Role

On behalf of our client, a leading organization in the financial services sector, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive AML Operations Specialist to join their Financial Crime Compliance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for operational AML execution—handling law enforcement inquiries, conducting thorough financial crime investigations, and drafting suspicious transaction reports. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding the institution against money laundering, fraud, and financial crime risks while ensuring strict regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Law Enforcement & Regulatory Inquiry Management:
    • Manage the end-to-end processing of Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) requests and regulatory disclosures received via official channels and portals.
    • Validate incoming requests for legal authorization, scope, and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Conduct customer account searches and transactional reviews to prepare complete and accurate disclosure packages within strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Maintain precise records, tracking logs, and complete audit trails for all processed requests.
  • Investigations & Suspicious Activity Reporting:
    • Monitor and investigate escalated alerts and unusual customer activities referred via transaction monitoring systems or internal channels.
    • Analyze customer data, account behavior, and transactional patterns to assess potential financial crime risks (AML, Fraud, Sanctions).
    • Prepare clear, well-documented Internal Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs/SARs) outlining findings, risk rationale, and recommended actions.
    • Escalate high-risk cases and complex investigations to senior reviewers and key stakeholders for decision-making.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience:
    • 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in AML/CFT, Financial Crime Compliance, Fraud Investigations, Transaction Monitoring, or KYC/CDD within banking, fintech, or financial services.
    • Direct experience with Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) request handling, regulatory disclosures, or legal inquiries.
    • Proven track record in conducting transactional analysis and drafting comprehensive suspicious transaction/activity reports.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong analytical mind with sharp investigative instincts and high attention to detail.
    • Excellent written communication skills, with a proven ability to draft concise, evidence-based reports.
    • High level of integrity with experience managing sensitive and confidential data.
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to handle concurrent urgent priorities under strict regulatory deadlines
