Summary
The Senior Operations Manager oversees production operations at the precision machining facilities. This role ensures on-time delivery, high output, cost efficiency, and seamless coordination across supply chain, logistics, quality control, assembly, and production planning. The manager aligns production capacity with sales orders to balance customer satisfaction with operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Ensure on-time order delivery and high production output.
- Plan achievable delivery dates, balancing customer requests with capacity.
- Oversee operations across two machining factories, optimizing machinery and manpower.
- Meet production margin targets and control costs below budgeted COGS.
- Streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Supply Chain and Logistics
- Develop cost-efficient supply chain operations for materials and outsourced components.
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to ensure quality and reliability.
- Continuously improve supplier performance to minimize costs and risks.
Collaboration with Sales and Planning
- Align production plans with sales forecasts and incoming orders.
- Communicate realistic delivery timelines based on capacity and constraints.
- Coordinate closely with Sales to anticipate demand and machine utilization.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and mentor departmental managers to effectively oversee their teams in Planning & Supply Chain, Production (Machining Unit & Assembly Unit), and Quality Control, ensuring operational excellence.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across Operation division.
- Define and track clear performance goals that align with organizational objectives.
- Manage and uphold staff discipline to sustain professionalism and productivity.
Financial Oversight
- Monitor operational costs to meet profitability targets.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures across operations.
- Report operational performance metrics to senior management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (Masters preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in precision machining.
- Proven ability to manage teams and operational divisions.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools.
Remuneration
MYR 10,000 to MYR 15,000
