Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager for our Group Finance team. This role is pivotal in leading the consolidation, reporting and analysis of the Group's financial performance and position, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements. The Senior Manager will be the focal point for technical accounting matters, responsible for statutory and Bursa reporting, and provide key insights into the financial performance and cash flow forecast of the Group. This role also leads the preparation of group-wide budgets, forecasts and financial plans, aligning them with business objectives. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, hands-on and have a strong understanding of accounting standards, financial management, forecasting, and risk assessment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Consolidation & Financial Reporting: Lead the group consolidation and financial reporting process, including preparing consolidated financial statements, consolidated notes, analysis, segmental reporting, statutory financial statements (AFS), quarterly results announcement (QR) and annual reports (AR). Ensure accurate and timely completion of group financial reports and in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements and applicable accounting standards.
  • Management Reporting: Lead the preparation of monthly management report with in-depth performance review and analysis as well as meaningful information that support the achievement of business objectives, facilitate financial management, and guide the Management in strategic decision-making and financial risk management.
  • Group Audit: Act as a key liaison person for external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and timely resolution of any audit issues that arise.
  • Focal Point for Accounting Technicalities: Serve as the go-to expert for resolving complex accounting technicalities and ensuring adherence to best practices in financial reporting.
  • Custodian of Group Accounting Policies: Maintain and enforce the group's accounting policies, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all financial reporting across the organization.
  • Financial Impact Assessment: Conduct financial impact assessments for various business initiatives and corporate transactions, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for Group: Lead financial planning and analysis for the Group, driving budgeting, financial projections, forecasting, and strategic financial planning processes.
  • Group Cash Flow Forecast: Manage and update the rolling cash flow forecast for the Group, ensuring liquidity and financial stability.
  • Financial Covenants: Ensure compliance with financial covenants by tracking and reporting on relevant financial metrics and ratios.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Lead and support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required by Management.
  • Continuously challenge the status quo, and proactively implement improvement initiatives and create positive change.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline and/or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
  • Must be a member of MIA or a relevant professional body.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, and minimum of 3 years of experience in audit firms.
  • Strong knowledge of MFRS, local statutory requirements, and Bursa Malaysia reporting guidelines.
  • Proven experience in group consolidation, financial reporting, Bursa reporting, segmental reporting.
  • Strong background in budgeting, financial planning & analysis, cash flow forecasting and/or complex consolidation will have added advantages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Skills in advanced Microsoft Excel, Power Query, financial modelling, or business intelligence tools will have added advantages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • High attention to detail, meticulous, capable of multi-tasking, proactive, and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Must be a hands-on person, and able to provide leadership and guidance to the supporting team.
