R&D Engineer (Android)

Job Description:

This role will be embedded in the R&D team working on a ticketing system project involving the development of Android-based applications for kiosk and embedded devices used in the operations line including QR-based ticket generation, validation, and integration with backend ticketing APIs.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in Android development in Java
• Solid Android fundamentals including activity/fragment lifecycle, XML layouts, intents, and state management
• Ability to integrate REST APIs (OkHttp or Retrofit)
• Ability to use Android Studio and Android SDK
• Exposure to kiosk, POS, or embedded Android device development (non-standard form factors)
• Familiarity with payment or ticketing system concepts (EMV, QR ticketing)
• Experience with local data persistence (SQLite / Room)
• Hardware integration experience is an advantage — specifically Android interfacing with peripheral hardware such as card readers, QR scanners, receipt printers, or kiosk components via USB, serial, or SDK integration
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic, or any equivalent fields (Fresh graduates are welcome to apply)

Remuneration:

MYR 3,500 - MYR 4,500
