Quality and Compliance Manager
About the job Quality and Compliance Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Company's:
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Safety Management System (SMS)
- Customer-specific requirements and relevant international standards
- Establish and maintain quality documentation, ensuring all procedures, records, specifications and manuals are current, accurate, and properly controlled.
- Serve as key point person and lead all internal, external, customer, certification and regulatory audits.
- Lead, manage, develop and train the QA/QC team to ensure effective execution of quality assurance and quality control activities.
- Ensure effective inspection and testing of incoming raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products and finished goods to meet established quality standards.
- Monitor product quality performance and drive corrective, preventive and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis and ensure timely implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee laboratory operations, including:
- Testing and analysis activities
- Validation and implementation of new testing methods and equipment
- Troubleshooting laboratory equipment and testing procedures
- Training laboratory personnel
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Procurement and other departments to ensure product quality and operational efficiency.
- Lead pest control, hygiene, sanitation and housekeeping programs to ensure compliance with quality and food/feed/pet care safety requirements where applicable.
- Ensure effective quality data management, including accurate recording, storage, retrieval, analysis and reporting.
- Support product development, process validation, and R&D activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and workplace health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct training programs and quality awareness initiatives across the organization.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience; or
- Diploma, Certificate, or SPM qualification with a minimum of 15 years' relevant experience in a similar managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, auditing practices, continuous improvement methodologies and laboratory operations.
- Proven leadership, team management and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Self-motivated, proactive, organized and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
