Regional Business Development Manager – Events

About the Role:

A global B2B media and events group is seeking a dynamic manager to lead commercial expansion and event delivery across Southeast Asia. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role combines revenue generation, industry engagement, and program management for high-level energy conferences. The ideal candidate brings background in technical event planning, association management, or commercial production within the energy or heavy industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commercial Growth: Drive sponsorship sales, delegate acquisition, and partnership development across key ASEAN markets (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam).
• Industry Relations: Connect with energy companies, service contractors, and technical committees to build strong regional networks.
• Program & Speaker Delivery: Curate conference agendas, secure high-profile industry speakers, and manage end-to-end event execution.
• Global Coordination: Work alongside international production and sales teams to align strategy and deliver cross-border initiatives.
• Local Operations: Oversee office administration, team coordination, and vendor management for the Kuala Lumpur location.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related fields.
• 3+ years of experience in B2B event management, commercial conference production, or industry association programming (e.g., professional societies, trade bodies, or energy event organizers).
• Understanding of the oil & gas, or energy industries.
• Strong networker with a hands-on approach to business development and project execution.
• Willingness to travel regionally for events and client meetings.

Remuneration

• Monthly salary: up to RM26,000
