Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Factory Manager or Manufacturing Head of Dept. in delivering the companies productivity requirements.
  • Managing and directing production activities within an industrial facility in the most structured, organized, effective and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for plant machineries and equipment to be in good condition which consists of trouble-shooting, repairs, scheduled maintenance for smooth running at all times.
  • Supervising, training and motivating a team of workers, reviewing worker's performance and identifying training needs. This includes cross-train workers for maximum production flexibility.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Liaise and communicate with suppliers, government authorities pertaining to factory, machinery, production and workers management whenever required. (E.g DOSH, DOE, SIRIM, etc).
  • Ensure compliance with work place safety programs, customer, factory and ethical audits.
  • Monitoring product standards, control, manage and minimize wastages by implementing and overseeing quality-control programs.
  • Perform any general factory / production duties whenever assigned or required
  • Ability to handle and develop project objectives on new or improvement of manufacturing/production efficiencies and effectiveness; conferring with management.

Manufacturing:

  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources efficiently; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Assist in production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analysing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analysing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Liaise and communicate with supplier, government authorities whenever required in the course of executing your duties.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Implements company's policies and goals and ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Conduct on job training of operators and ensure they follow the work instruction and understand the defect criteria as at when required.
  • Able to perform a wide variety of duties in factory / production capacity whenever assigned or required.

Projects:

  • Fully report to Manufacturing HOD/Manager in delivering the companies productivity requirements.
  • Develops project objectives on new or improvement of manufacturing/production efficiencies and effectiveness; conferring with management.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements;
  • Reviewing quotations from contractors and liaising with Finance Manager on pricing
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, manufacturing/production requirements, and performance standards.
  • Completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests, if necessary.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and recommending actions.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform any general factory / production duties whenever assigned or required

Key Skills:

  • Communication, influencing and assertiveness in the management of overall manufacturing plant, process and workers.
  • Manufacturing Engineering which consists of plant layout, process flows and methodologies, waste reduction and elimination, continuous improvement, plant & machinery repairs & maintenance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and possess strong problem-solving skills (containment & counter-measure).
  • Experienced in supply chain management (including expediting, lead time reduction, inventory management, packaging & container loading).
  • Ability to effectively communicate, coordinate and liaise with management, support staff, procurement, vendors and government authorities related to manufacturing concern.

Requirements:

  • Degree in any Engineering discipline with at least 3 years' experience preferably in manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office and design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks highly advantageous.
  • Team player with high focus on maximisation of machinery efficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Good command in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to converse in Mandarin highly advantageous
