Lead Legal Strategy & Risk Management at a Premier Law Firm

A top-tier AM 100 law firm is seeking an experienced General Counsel to join its Orange County, CA office. This executive-level role is responsible for overseeing firm-wide legal strategy, regulatory compliance, risk management, and professional responsibility matters.

This is an outstanding opportunity for attorneys with extensive law firm experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven background in legal advisory, corporate governance, and risk mitigation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from a T-14 law school (Required).
• 10+ years of legal experience, preferably in law firm general counsel roles, risk management, or legal operations leadership.
• Prior Experience at an AM 100 or AM 200 Law Firm (Required).
• Expertise in legal risk management, regulatory compliance, professional ethics, and firm governance.
• Strong leadership and advisory skills with experience guiding senior management and legal teams.
• In-depth understanding of data privacy, attorney ethics, conflicts management, and compliance frameworks.
• Exceptional Legal Writing & Research Skills with strategic problem-solving abilities.
• Bar Admission in California or eligibility to waive in.
• Consistent Employment History with no unexplained gaps or frequent job-hopping.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $435,000 $485,000
• Bonus Structure: Performance-based discretionary bonuses
