A premier AM 100 law firm is seeking a highly skilled Business Restructuring & Reorganization Associate to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile corporate bankruptcies, complex financial restructurings, distressed M&A transactions, and insolvency litigation.

This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with AM 100 law firm experience, federal clerkships, and a strong background in financial restructuring, creditor rights, and corporate reorganizations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from a T-14 law school (Required).
  • Graduation Year Requirement: JD earned 2016-2022 (Mid-Level to Senior Associates Encouraged).
  • 2-6+ years of experience handling business restructuring, financial reorganization, distressed transactions, or bankruptcy litigation.
  • Prior Experience at an AM 100 or AM 200 Law Firm (Required).
  • Judicial Clerkship (Preferred): U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals, Bankruptcy Courts, or federal district courts.
  • Experience representing:
    • Debtors, creditors, and investors in complex restructuring matters.
    • Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court workouts, DIP financings, and distressed M&A transactions.
    • Creditors committees, bondholders, secured and unsecured creditors, or distressed asset purchasers.
  • Strong Financial Acumen with experience analyzing capital structures, restructuring plans, and insolvency proceedings.
  • Exceptional Legal Writing & Research Skills with strategic problem-solving abilities.
  • Bar Admission in Washington, D.C., or eligibility to waive in.
  • Consistent Employment History with no unexplained gaps or frequent job-hopping.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $250,000 $450,000
