The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Tax Associate to join the tax team of one of our esteemed clients in New York. This mid-level associate role provides a unique opportunity to work on high-profile M&A transactions, investment partnerships, renewable energy projects, and other corporate transactions. You'll collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals to advise clients on sophisticated tax structures and strategies that drive impactful results.

What You'll Do

• Provide Strategic Counsel: Advise clients on M&A transactions, debt and financing deals, and portfolio investments.
• Design Tax Solutions: Develop tax-efficient structures for joint ventures and corporate transactions.
• Plan for Success: Offer state tax planning guidance tailored to client's unique business needs.
• Drive Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure seamless execution of tax strategies.

What You Bring to the Table

• Education:
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • LLM in Taxation is strongly preferred.
• Bar Admission: Admitted or eligible for admission in New York.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years of transactional tax experience, with a focus on corporate and partnership taxation in a law firm setting.
  • Background in energy, real estate, or international taxation is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Team-Oriented: Collaborative approach with a focus on delivering results in team settings.

Your Skillset

• Transactional Expertise: Proficiency in corporate and partnership taxation, including cross-border considerations.
• Tax Planning Acumen: Experience structuring complex transactions to achieve client goals.
• Sector-Specific Knowledge: Familiarity with renewable energy, real estate, or international tax issues.
