The Opportunity

We're seeking a talented and driven Project Finance Associate to join one of our esteemed clients, a leading law firm specializing in corporate legal services. In this role, you'll work with a dynamic team to support energy project development and finance initiatives, with a focus on distributed and utility-scale renewable energy projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to impactful work in a growing and innovative sector.

What You'll Do

• Lead and Execute: Manage US-based project development and financing for renewable energy projects.
• Draft and Negotiate: Work with principal financing documentation, including purchase agreements, partnership agreements, credit agreements, security and pledge agreements, and depositary agreements.
• Ensure Diligence: Oversee due diligence related to key commercial project documentation such as development agreements, PPAs, EPCs, site control, and interconnection agreements.
• Collaborate Effectively: Partner with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver high-quality outcomes.

What You Bring to the Table

• Education: JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar Admission: Admitted or eligible for admission in DC.
• Experience: At least 4 years of project finance experience at a law firm, with expertise in renewable energy projects.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in handling project financing documentation and commercial agreements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Professionalism in client interactions.
• Team-Oriented: Ability to collaborate effectively and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Your Skillset

• Project Finance Expertise: Deep understanding of financing structures and renewable energy project development.
• Contract Proficiency: Experience drafting and negotiating key agreements related to energy projects.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to provide thoughtful counsel to clients in high-stakes transactions.
