Position Title: Contract Staff Accountant

Location: Virginia Beach, VA

This is a Contract position ($20-$22/hr)



Position Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Controller Frames, the Staff Accountant will be the driver behind keeping track of all plant purchases and ensuring they are coded and approved in the system. This position will also complete payment requests on monthly and quarterly payables. Will assist with analysis and reporting as part of the accounting month-end close or forecasting process. You will be instrumental in continuing to develop the overall structure, internal controls, and delivery of key financial and operational information to the plant leadership and finance teams.

What you will be doing:

• Own AP Invoicing and Receipt tracking
• Maintain the reconciliation of customer accounts in plant ERP system
• Assist Plant Controller with month-end close and forecast materials where necessary.
• Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliation.
• Provide financial support on key strategic projects/business cases as needed.
• Access and manipulate data from multiple sources into meaningful analysis and insights. Intermediate to Advanced excel skills a plus.
• Assist in the improvement of inventory control procedures and other internal controls.

What we are looking for:

•  Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
• 1-2 years experience in manufacturing environment, specifically with Operations or Standard Costing.
• Experience with ERP Accounting systems and coding invoices.
• Demonstrated ability to use logical thinking to arrive to a reasonable solution/answer for a problem/question.
