About the job Mid Sys Admin/DevOps
About the Job
We are looking for a versatile engineer to take on the remote maintenance and continuous evolution of Linux/KVM servers (across multiple client sites, >10 hosts) and actively contribute to development projects alongside our team.
This is a hybrid role combining systems administration with software development support. It is both challenging and rewarding, given the breadth of technologies to be managed and the specialised nature of some of the projects.
Key Responsibilities
-
Maintain, monitor and evolve Linux/KVM servers across distributed client environments.
-
Support databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and contribute to high availability (HA) solutions.
-
Manage and optimise virtualisation platforms (KVM, virsh, Archipel or similar).
-
Ensure smooth integration of authentication and file sharing systems (Samba v4, OwnCloud, WordPress).
-
Collaborate with developers on new features, infrastructure improvements, and automation projects.
-
Document processes and provide clear guidelines for the team.
Requirements
Highly desirable
-
Solid experience with Linux server & desktop administration (Ubuntu preferred; other distros or Unices considered).
-
Hands-on with PostgreSQL/MySQL database support and HA technologies.
-
Experience managing KVM and overlays such as Archipel (or strong background in equivalent virtualisation).
-
Knowledge of Samba v4 as authentication provider or within an authentication chain.
Desirable
-
Strong attention to detail & documentation skills.
-
Some programming exposure in Python or PHP.
-
Familiarity with server admin tools (Bind nameservers, Puppet deployment).
-
Experience with file storage/sharing systems (OwnCloud) and CMS platforms (WordPress).
-
Interest in IT security and process automation, ideally with contributions to open-source projects.
Benefits
-
21 vacation days per year.
-
Meal tickets.
-
Flexible working hours (817 with lunch break).
-
Team events and a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
