Job Openings Content Modeller (Content Domain)

About the job Content Modeller (Content Domain)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join a mature digital product organisation as a Content Modeller within a dedicated Content Domain team, shaping the next phase of an enterprise-scale headless content platform. This is a hybrid strategic and delivery role, combining business analysis, structured content modelling and platform enablement. You will design scalable, reusable and API-ready content structures that power web, mobile and emerging digital channels, while helping teams move from a centralised content gatekeeper model to a self-service, governed approach. Fully remote within Portugal.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

Over the past year the organisation has scaled a headless CMS approach with Contentful at the centre of its content ecosystem, enabling structured content reuse across a growing range of digital experiences. As adoption has spread, familiar challenges have emerged: content models that are hard to discover and understand, inconsistent decisions between reuse and new model creation, fragmented documentation, and modelling decisions reviewed too late in delivery cycles. You will work alongside Product, Experience Design, Engineering and Platform teams to address immediate delivery needs — campaigns, experimentation and personalisation initiatives — while contributing to a long-term content operating model, including governance standards, reusable modelling patterns and a discoverable Content Domain Design Library inspired by design system principles.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

  • Strong commercial experience with Contentful in enterprise environments (Spaces, Environments, Content Types, publishing workflows)
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining Contentful content models, content types and reference structures
  • Hands-on experience with the Contentful GraphQL Content API and API-first architectures
  • Solid understanding of content modelling principles: references, taxonomies, localisation, rich text and reusable schemas
  • Experience with structured content, composable architectures and headless CMS platforms
  • Business analysis capability: facilitating discovery workshops and translating UX, design and product requirements into scalable content models
  • Experience collaborating directly with Product Managers, UX Designers and Engineering teams
  • Ability to work with developers to optimise content delivery performance and downstream consumption
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) — the working language of the team

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

  • Experience with the Contentful Content Management API and contentful.js SDK v11 / contentful-cli v3 for automation and model migrations
  • Experience migrating legacy content into structured Contentful models
  • Familiarity with Contentful Compose, Launch or Studio
  • Exposure to design systems and aligning UX component libraries with content structures
  • Experience defining content governance frameworks and documentation standards at scale
  • Knowledge of personalisation and experimentation platforms
  • Front-end framework awareness (Next.js 15, React 19) for understanding downstream consumption
  • Portuguese language skills

Compensation: €2,500 – €3,250/month net, depending on experience and seniority level
