ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a Senior Java Developer to join a respected international software engineering company known for its people-first, lean and self-organised culture: no politics, just great engineering. You'll be a technical reference within your team, owning your code from development to production, mentoring others, and helping shape the technical direction of large-scale digital products used by customers worldwide.

PROJECT & CONTEXT
You'll join a cross-functional, agile team delivering high-quality solutions for international clients, often in e-commerce and retail. The exact tech stack depends on the project. Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking part in every stage of delivery and mentoring the development team through knowledge sharing
- Owning your code end to end, from development and deployment to maintenance
- Diagnosing production issues and designing solutions for them
- Contributing to solution design, architecture and implementation
- Challenging business requirements to get the best possible outcome
- Driving the adoption of new technologies and influencing the technology roadmap
- Conducting technical interviews within your area of expertise
- Occasional national and international travel (0–15%, depending on project and client needs)
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)
- 7+ years of experience with Java, including Java 17 and Java 21
- Solid experience with Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Cloud Data Flow) or Micronaut
- Strong knowledge of Microservices, Web Services and SOA architectures
- Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL Federation
- Monitoring and observability experience with OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace or similar tools
- Proficiency with Gradle
- Hands-on unit testing, integration testing and TDD
- Cloud experience with Azure, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes and GitHub Actions
- Database experience with MongoDB and MySQL
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Nexus Pro or similar ALM tools
- Agile practices: Scrum/Kanban, BDD/TDD, CI/CD, DevOps and Pair Programming
- Strong command of design patterns for scalable, maintainable solutions
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Must be based in Portugal
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)
- Experience with Product Information Management or Master Data Management platforms (e.g., Stibo STEP)
- Background in e-commerce or retail
- Kotlin experience
