Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering with experience in construction project management, site supervision, and infrastructure development. You will be responsible for overseeing construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Design:
- Develop and review engineering plans, blueprints, and specifications for construction projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk analyses.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.
- Construction Supervision:
- Oversee and manage construction sites to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site workers to ensure efficient workflow.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor project progress.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure construction materials and workmanship meet required standards.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies during the construction process.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation and reports.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement of materials and equipment.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to align project goals and deliverables.
- Prepare and present project proposals, progress reports, and final project documentation to clients.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Masters degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering and construction management.
- Proven experience with infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, and buildings.
- Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other engineering software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Working Conditions:
- Split between office-based work and on-site project management.
- May require working extended hours and weekends, depending on project demands.
- Frequent travel to construction sites and client meetings.
