Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project Manager in Commercial Construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing large-scale commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects, from initial planning to final completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.
    • Conduct pre-construction meetings to establish project objectives and roles.
  • Construction Management:

    • Oversee daily operations of construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
    • Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure project goals are achieved.
    • Manage subcontractors and ensure all work is performed according to contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Budget and Cost Control:

    • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking all expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
    • Prepare financial reports and forecasts, identifying potential cost overruns and implementing corrective actions.
    • Approve invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Implement quality control procedures to ensure all work meets required standards and specifications.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and resolve any quality issues.
    • Ensure all materials and workmanship comply with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:

    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.
    • Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities.
  • Communication and Reporting:

    • Maintain open and effective communication with clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
    • Prepare and present detailed project reports to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Foster positive relationships with all project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
    • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Masters degree is a plus.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management within the commercial construction industry.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial construction projects.
    • Experience with construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera).
  • Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Certifications (Preferred):

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
    • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with frequent visits to construction sites.
  • May require working extended hours and weekends, depending on project demands.
  • Occasional travel to other company locations or client meetings.
