Senior AP Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the core SME for Accounts Payable, driving global standardized AP methodologies across internal business partners and external vendors.
- Disbursement Oversight: Manage daily team operations to ensure payables are accurately coded, properly authorized, recorded in the correct accounting period, tax-compliant, and settled within agreed terms.
- Controls & Process Improvement: Support leadership in maintaining internal controls, refining AP policies/workflows, and executing continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Cross-Office Coordination: Partner with international AP functions, regional stakeholders, and vendors to resolve complex billing inquiries and payment discrepancies.
- Talent Lifecycle Management: Lead recruitment efforts (interviews, evaluations), oversee onboarding, and assess specialist skill development for regularization decisions.
- Performance Coaching: Conduct goal-setting, continuous performance reviews, and individual development plans to cultivate high team engagement and capability.
- Administrative Operations: Oversee team timekeeping, manage employee transitions, and act as the first-level escalation point for administrative and HR-related matters.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Experience: 5–7 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable or financial operations, with at least 1–3 years in a team lead, project, or supervisory role.
- Industry Context: Background within a Shared Services / BPO center or professional legal services firm is a distinct advantage.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with enterprise legal/financial systems (e.g., Elite 3E or equivalent ERPs) is preferred.
- Leadership & Coaching: Proven ability to mentor staff, build resilient teams, promote ownership, and navigate organizational change.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-border, executive stakeholders.
- Execution & Integrity: Excellent organizational skills, acute attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the utmost discretion with confidential financial data.
