The Management Accounting Manager leads the financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting functions to support critical business decisions, maximize profitability, and drive long-term business growth. This role serves as a strategic financial partner, collaborating closely with Operations and other core departments to provide actionable financial insights, streamline processes, and measurably improve overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Performance Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, and financial reporting processes across the organization.
- Analyze complex business performance metrics and financial trends to identify opportunities, risks, and variances.
- Evaluate financial feasibility and ROI for new store openings, expansions, and major business investment initiatives.
2. Strategic Business Partnering & Leadership
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations and other departmental leadership teams to deliver clear financial insights that support tactical and strategic decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the internal Management Accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous professional growth.
- Manage key stakeholders effectively, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable narratives for non-financial leaders.
3. Process & System Optimization
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for reporting systems and financial workflows.
- Enhance internal data integrity, reporting efficiency, and accounting processes to ensure agility in business decision-making.
Job Requirements
Experience & Education
- 10+ years of progressive experience specifically within Management Accounting or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
- Proven, deeply entrenched background in budgeting, forecasting, and advanced financial analysis.
Industry Background
- Preferred Industry Experience: Strong preference for candidates coming from the Restaurant, Retail, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors.
Skills & Competencies
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and developing accounting or finance teams.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of influencing senior leadership and partnering with operational departments.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to turn financial data into growth strategies.
