Position Summary:
The AVP Business Development provides strategic leadership and execution support for key initiatives and projects, including those involving affiliates and subsidiaries. This role is responsible for identifying, advising on, and executing mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships in alignment with the organizations strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Formulate and implement business plans to achieve departmental goals and long-term objectives.
- Operational Oversight: Manage resource and capability planning for functional operations to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Financial Management: Oversee the functions financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing team to meet business development targets.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the main liaison for stakeholders, ensuring transparent and effective communication.
- Financial Modeling: Prepare and maintain financial models for new business ventures and existing affiliates to support short, medium, and long-term planning and valuation.
- Model Updates: Regularly revise financial models to reflect updated economic, technical, and financial conditions.
- Fundraising Support: Assist in securing funds for departmental projects and initiatives involving affiliates and subsidiaries.
- Revenue Framework Development: Create and maintain revenue planning frameworks to support annual budgeting activities.
- Policy Communication: Support the dissemination and implementation of company policies and guidelines.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with unit leaders to develop and align strategic and tactical plans with business objectives.
- Feasibility and Due Diligence: Oversee the preparation of feasibility studies, including data collection, permitting, and legal documentation prior to due diligence processes.
- Integration of Due Diligence: Coordinate and synthesize due diligence findings from technical, financial, and legal teams, providing comprehensive assessments and recommendations on project viability and growth potential.
