Role Overview
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the overall maintenance operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and availability of production equipment, facilities, and utility systems. This role drives preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, equipment performance improvements, and continuous operational excellence while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline. Professional Engineering license is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience focused on plant maintenance, including facilities and utilities management, within a consumer goods, FMCG, or food & beverage manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years of people management experience, leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment and plant utilities.
  • Experience managing utilities such as boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, generators, water treatment systems, electrical distribution, and other critical plant infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), maintenance planning, asset management, and spare parts inventory control.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards, GMP, HACCP, food safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
  • Proven experience in root cause analysis (RCA), troubleshooting, equipment reliability improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, project management, planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all plant maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for production equipment, facilities, and utility systems.
  • Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of plant utilities, including electrical systems, boilers, compressors, HVAC, generators, water treatment facilities, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, work order execution, and shutdown activities to minimize production downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance, analyze maintenance data, and implement reliability improvement initiatives to reduce recurring equipment failures.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation for equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, control maintenance costs, and oversee spare parts inventory while ensuring adequate critical stock availability.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contractors to achieve operational and performance objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS teams to support production schedules and plant improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee maintenance-related capital improvement projects, equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with company safety policies, GMP, HACCP, environmental regulations, and other applicable industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, energy optimization, and operational excellence.
