Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & FP&A
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide management with periodic financial reports, trend analyses, and actionable insights.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Drive the annual budget preparation process.
- Monitor and analyze actual vs. budget performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Support long-term financial forecasting and scenario planning.
3. Accounting Operations
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing, collections, reconciliations, and accounting entries (NAV system).
- Resolve discrepancies in sales and support audit requirements.
4. Compliance & Internal Controls
- Establish and enforce effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements (VAT, corporate income tax, etc.).
- Provide accurate reports and documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
5. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to achieve operational excellence.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and monitor progress toward deadlines.
- Conduct performance reviews and foster continuous learning and development.
6. Retail-Specific Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory accounting and stock valuation processes.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to support retail operations.
- Analyze sales performance and provide financial insights to drive business growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Retail industry experience strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of FP&A and exposure to shared services is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting software (experience with NAV an advantage).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Effective communicator in both English and Filipino.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
