Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Director to lead the Record to Report (RTR) team supporting our Australia and New Zealand business units. In this pivotal role, you will be the primary lead for transitioning financial accounting activities to our Shared Service Centre in Bulgaria while driving the continuous improvement and service excellence agenda.
You will manage a multi-layered team of senior managers and professionals, ensuring all financial reporting, statutory statements, and tax returns are executed with precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee end-to-end accounting activities, including accurate period-end closes and Group external reporting (IFRS).
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure strict adherence to company policies, SOX controls, Local GAAP, and direct tax compliance. Serve as the lead contact for internal and external audits.
- Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and professional growth.
- Process Transformation: Lead the transition of regional finance activities into the SSC; leverage technology and Lean methodologies to standardize and simplify processes.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the primary RTR point of contact for regional business units, providing insightful financial analysis and variance reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: * Minimum 8 years of accounting experience within a multinational company or Big 4 firm.
- At least 4 years in a senior leadership/accounting management role (managing other managers).
- Education: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Certifications: Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) is highly preferred. Lean Six Sigma is an advantage.
- Technical Skills: * Strong proficiency in SAP (essential).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Communication: Fluent English (C1) with excellent presentation and influencing skills.

- Analytical Thinking: Expert-level understanding of complex financial processes and the ability to address or escalate intricate accounting issues.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage large-scale transitions and audit cycles.
- Flexibility: Availability to occasionally start the workday earlier to accommodate Australia/NZ time zones.
- Organization: High attention to detail with the ability to adjust plans and schedules effectively.
