Location: Ortigas, Pasig
Work Setup: Hybrid: (2 days onsite, 3 days WFH)

Job Description
The Lead Software Engineer (React & Next.js) is responsible for leading the development of high-performance, secure, and scalable customer-facing web applications. This role ensures strict adherence to coding standards through full code ownership and review, mentors the engineering team, and drives agile delivery in close collaboration with the Director of Software Development.

Key Responsibilities

Code Quality & Standards

• Perform 100% code reviews to enforce best practices, clean architecture, and coding standards.

• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and consistency across all web applications.

Application Performance & Security

• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security.

• Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, and technical debt.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor and guide developers, with a strong focus on Next.js and React expertise.

• Promote continuous learning, collaboration, and engineering excellence.

Agile Project Management

• Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.

• Work closely with leadership to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Evaluate and adopt new web technologies, frameworks, and tools.

• Drive process improvements to improve development efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

• Minimum of 9 years of experience in web development.

• Strong expertise in React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript frameworks.

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and conducting rigorous code reviews.

• Strong understanding of performance optimization, security best practices, and scalable web architectures.

• Solid experience working in agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Relevant technical or agile certifications are a plus.
