Job Summary
The Finance Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and compliance. This role ensures the integrity of financial information, supports strategic decision-making, and leads the finance team to achieve organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Closing
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reports.
- Present financial results to senior management.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Monitor financial performance against budget.
- Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Support strategic planning initiatives.
3. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Establish and maintain strong internal control systems.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and accounting standards.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Oversee cash flow planning and liquidity management.
- Monitor working capital and optimize cash utilization.
- Manage banking relationships and financing arrangements.
5. Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the accounting and finance team.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
6. Cost & Performance Management
- Monitor operational costs and profitability.
- Review pricing strategies and margin analysis.
- Support management with financial modeling and investment evaluations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- 7–12 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
- At least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and taxation.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced financial modeling.
