Job Summary

The Logistics & Distribution Head is responsible for leading the overall logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations of the organization. The role focuses on ensuring efficient movement, storage, and delivery of goods across all channels while driving operational excellence, cost optimization, and service reliability.

This position will oversee transportation, warehouse operations, inventory movement, third-party logistics providers, and distribution planning to support business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Distribution Operations

  • Lead end-to-end logistics and distribution operations across warehouses and delivery networks.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and cost-efficient delivery of goods to stores, hubs, and customers.
  • Oversee transportation planning, routing, fleet coordination, and last-mile delivery performance.
  • Manage warehouse and distribution center operations to ensure smooth inventory flow and fulfillment.

Operations & Process Optimization

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs such as delivery turnaround time, inventory movement accuracy, fulfillment rate, and logistics costs.
  • Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and warehousing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight partners, warehouse operators, and suppliers.
  • Negotiate logistics contracts, service agreements, and vendor performance standards.
  • Coordinate closely with procurement, commercial, planning, and operations teams to align logistics activities with business requirements.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics and distribution team.
  • Build scalable logistics strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Drive operational discipline and foster a high-performance culture within the team.
  • Provide regular operational insights and recommendations to leadership through data and performance analysis.

Ideal Background / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Strong experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, and distribution leadership roles.
  • Background in retail, pharmaceutical, 3PLs, logistics, e-commerce, or large-scale distribution operations is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing complex logistics networks and high-volume distribution operations.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience handling 3PLs, warehouse operations, and transportation management is an advantage.
