Job Overview:
The Business Development Director spearheads the business development activities of his/her cluster and drives the sales opportunities for the company through growing existing partnerships and tapping new markets, providing strategic directions in expanding territory and industry niche of the organization, positioning the teams strategies for higher win rate for business proposals, ensuring compliance of team in internal and external processes, and delivering expected services to clients based on agreed terms in partnership/ client contracts.
Job Description:
Key Accounts Management
- Evaluate existing partnerships of the group and provide strategies to grow the business.
- Provides market feedback to top management regarding competitive offerings and market needs.
Business Development
- Identifies profitable business opportunities and provides strategic direction to the business development team.
- Research emerging industry trends and directs the corporate strategy group to expand research and study, and marketing to expand marketing efforts.
- Spearheads territory planning and management to spot and close
opportunities and guides Business Development Managers in formulating strategy and game plan (i.e. account plan, industry study, etc).
Negotiation and Closing
- Provides direction to the team to position business proposals as a win-win engagement by emphasizing the unique value proposition and ROI for the client.
- Monitors the status of business proposals and provides direction to close internal and external dependencies.
- Forms Strategic Partnerships with C-level decision-makers to influence and promote sales.
Process Compliance
- Identifies dependencies and opportunities for process enhancements if
necessary.
Contracts Management
- Develops strategies to address under-performance and compliance failures, including application of contract terms.
- Negotiates variations and seeks appropriate authorization.
- Actively supports and engages with experts and stakeholders to ensure
continuous improvements are identified through review and benchmarking processes.
Other Key Responsibilities:
- Make sure that dependencies across Business and Support teams are
addressed to deliver client requirements while protecting the Companys best interest. - Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, and prospect needs and generate product development ideas.
- Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational sales, marketing, and Customer Relationship activities.
- Plan and coordinate the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets.
- Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying the integration of new ventures with company strategies and operations Examine risks and potentials for business opportunities
Requirements:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Business Management or equivalent; Masters Degree is ideal
Related Experience At least 7 years of experience in selling relevant IT products and services
- Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies
and solutions - Must have experience working in a corporate/business-focused
environment - Proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
- Proven track record of increasing revenue through discovering new
business opportunities and key accounts. - Should have significant experience in leading and managing people
- Should have experience in issues management and resolution
- Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and
latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management.
Knowledge: Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and
procedures
- Should be well knowledgeable in selling ALL of the products and services of the organization and therefore powerfully articulate the best possible solution to customer and internal support
- Has in-depth industry/ market knowledge and network.
Soft Skills:
- Should have an excellent sense of business acumen and should be able to manage profitability and budget for a healthy PnL and ROI.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Relies on extensive experience, industry research study, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
