Duties and Responsibility
- Act as the escalation point for complex database issues, resolving incidents related to performance, security, storage, and availability.
- Perform installation of software, configurations, upgrades, and migrations related to databases.
- Install and manage software updates and patches for database systems, including security patches to address vulnerabilities and bug fixes.
- Analyze database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations to improve database speed and efficiency.
- Enforce security policies, managing user access, and protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access.
- Manage the backup of databases to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Be involved in new application implementation and infrastructure projects, providing database expertise, and ensuring successful deployments.
- Participate in disaster recovery drills to minimize downtime and data loss in case of unforeseen events.
- Work closely with application developers, fellow DBA and DevOps teammates, and other IT teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Be knowledgeable with the company's Change, Incident and Service Request Management process and make sure all tickets are managed/closed.
- Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an ORACLE Database Administrator
- Relevant experience supporting/administering Oracle Golden Gate
- Oracle Cloud Experience and ATP Autonomous DBaaS, preferred
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization
- Experience in backup and restore (including redirected restoration)
- Strong understanding of Oracle architecture and security.
- Amenable to shifting schedule
Good to have (not required)
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Familiarity with other database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL Server, PostgreSQL, CosmosDB)
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes.
- Familiarity with Linux environment
